Choose a category. Each answer must belong to it and begin with the last letter of the previous answer. Speak or type — then pass the turn.

Set up your big-screen game
- Connect your iPhone or iPad and your Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible TV to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open Control Centre, choose Screen Mirroring and select your TV. Enter the TV passcode if asked.
- Open Last Letter, set up a local game and start playing. The external display is for watching; use your device to control the game.
Requires an AirPlay-compatible receiver. Last Letter is an iPhone and iPad app; there is no separate Apple TV app to install.

Make a custom category for local, AI or Solo play — a favourite subject or the names everyone in your group knows. Custom lists are not used in online games or ranked leaderboards.

Yes. Last Letter is free to download and play, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
What devices do I need?
Last Letter runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or later. For TV play, also use an Apple TV or another AirPlay-compatible receiver on the same Wi-Fi network.
Can everyone play from the television?
The TV shows the game through AirPlay. Set up and control the game on your iPhone or iPad. Local pass-and-play supports 2–8 players.
Can I play alone or with friends online?
Yes. Play Solo Chain or Blitz, take on computer opponents, or host an online Game Center game and share its party code with friends. Game Center features require an internet connection.
Does voice input need the internet?
Voice recognition runs on your device. It needs microphone and speech-recognition permissions and a supported, available on-device recogniser. You can type an answer instead. Online multiplayer and Game Center services need internet access.
Can I make my own category?
Yes. v2.1.0 adds custom categories and five themed category packs. Create a list for local, AI or Solo play. Custom lists are not available online or on ranked leaderboards. The themed packs unlock through wins; four are English-only and Greek Islands supports English and Greek.
What languages can I play in?
Choose English, Greek, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Turkish, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or Finnish, or Japanese Shiritori. Available categories vary by language. Simplified Chinese is an interface option, not a puzzle language; Japanese Shiritori uses its own kana rules.
